This month, see Tania Bruguera: Talking to Power / Hablándole al Poder, a survey of the Cuban dissident artist’s long-term art works to date, including a commissioned piece, Escuela de Arte Útil, which turns the YBCA galleries into a fully-functioning school. Drop in on the fifth week of the school where students will learn about A-legality from WochenKlausur, an art and activist group. Our second floor galleries present Damon Rich and Jae Shin: Space Brainz — Yerba Buena 3000, an exhibition by the design partners that resembles a futuristic city where clashing interests maneuver to shape the world.
From 7-8PM, join us to celebrate the opening of the Sanctuary Print Shop with Bay Area artists Sergio De La Torre and Chris Treggiari. Artists will introduce the project and present live demos.
After the YBCA galleries, enjoy drinks in the Grand Lobby, and explore the Yerba Buena neighborhood for more Third Thursday festivities.
