A dynamic evening of rhythm, original live music, explosive energy, and raw emotion, The Blues Project  is a collaboration of today’s best tap artists, musicians, and choreographers. Together, Michelle Dorrance, Derick K. Grant, Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards, and Toshi Reagon breathe fresh energy into traditional tap dance, and with that, a nod to its historical origins. But this is not your mom’s tap show. Dorrance is known for her innovative choreography that engages the entire body and commands the stage. Nine dancers and the band BIGLovely re-imagine quintessential American dance and music in astonishing tap solos and captivating ensembles. Winner of the 2015 Bessie Award for Outstanding Production, this creative collaboration brings tap into sharp, contemporary focus. This is no stage for your arms to be at your sides.
