About Gum Moon Women's Residence

Gum Moon Women’s Residence provides transitional housing facilities for women in transition. In 1984, Gum Moon established a community outreach project known as the Asian Women’s Resource Center (AWRC). AWRC provides a wide rache of services for low-income monolingual Asian immígrant women and children. AWRC offers opportunities for cross-cultural experiences, self-improvement and leadership development, which are open to all members of our community.

Affordable Housing: Gum Moon provides safe, affordable housing for Asian immigrant women who are survivors of domestic violence. A multilingual staff provides supportive advice and counseling to those in need. The staff encourages interaction and activities among the residents, creating a family atmosphere.

Cultural, Social, and Recreational Programs:
AWRC promotes knowledge of Asian culture and heritage. It also encourages individuals to develp their artistic abilities. The program includes piano instruction and children’s art classes.
