Dean Snider and Greg Sharits were iconoclasts of 70s Bay Area filmmaking. Snider was a charismatic cinematic instigator and founding member of the legendary No Nothing Cinema. Several short works by Snider will be screened, including Stink, Ish and Vinnie and Yes Ta’ Day. Sharits lived in relative obscurity, haunting the streets of SOMA throughout the 70s. Using single-frame shooting, Sharits’ films are pixilated city symphonies. We will present new prints of four films.
