Paul Taylor has been one of the most prolific, inventive and happily unpredictable dancemakers for more than half a century. He consistently creates meaningful and entertaining works known for their emotional depth, dazzling physicality, social relevance and humor. Named as America’s greatest choreographer, Taylor sends his striking company once more to San Francisco (fresh from its New York season) with three works never before seen here and four repertory favorites: Airs and Promethean Fire are sweepingly musical; Piazzolla Caldera is a highly charged tango tribute; Troilus and Cressida is deeply moving, while Book of Beasts is quirky and irreverent.
