Limited Edition Bill T. Jones Prints by Tseng Kwong Chi
Yerba Buena Center for the Arts is pleased to announce a new limited edition series in collaboration with the Estate of Tseng Kwong Chi. These striking large-format photographs celebrate the spirit of interconnected creativity that pulsed throughout the East Village in New York in the 1980s.
Inside a London studio in 1983, artist Keith Haring began painting directly on choreographer Bill T. Jones' body with white acrylic paint. The body-drawing process lasted over four hours. Next, Tseng Kwong Chi photographed Jones' spontaneous movements throughout the studio. The collaboration among the three artists culminated in a series of striking large-format photographs that celebrate the spirit of interconnected creativity that pulsed throughout the East Village in New York in the 1980s.
