Your name, or the name of someone you’d like to honor, will be featured on a handsome plaque affixed to a seat in the YBCA Theater. Your generous gift to the YBCA Fund for New Performance will make a difference in the life and work of an artist. If we reach our goal of $500,000, YBCA will be able to commission one new contemporary performance work every year for the next ten years. Become a visionary—take a seat today.

Tell Your Story

When you purchase a seat, we invite you, if you like, to share a story about how the arts have affected your life.

Share a personal story about a meaningful experience at a performance, or pay tribute to a family member, friend or hero. Have you ever felt transported by a dance, moved to tears by a piece of music, provoked by a performance artist into thinking about something in a whole new way? Why do you love performance—what do you get out of an evening in the theater? We want to know. Stories can be submitted with your mail order or via email to elakin (at) ybca.org. YBCA will share submitted stories in print materials and on its website.

By helping us meet this challenge, your support will be doubled and you can help YBCA meet its goal of $500,000 to fund the YBCA Fund for New Performance today!

While you may not be able to actually sit in the seat that you purchase when you attend events at YBCA, once a year, we guarantee that you can.

For the next five years you’ll receive an invitation to the Annual Season Announcement Preview Party. During this exclusive annual event, you can literally “take your seat” as our Executive Director presents highlights of the upcoming season of exhibitions, performances and films.

Throughout the evening, the stories you’ve shared will be projected onstage as together we celebrate our collective commitment to art and the artists who make it.

Visit the YBCA Box Office at 701 Mission Street @ 3rd. Open Tue, Wed, Fri, Sat & Sun from noon – 5 pm and Thursdays until 8 pm.

* Your dedication will be featured in the Theater in perpetuity. Seat plaques will be featured on each seat for a period of five years and moved to a prominent location in the Theater after the five year dedication period is completed.

What's the Big Idea Day

Sat, May 10, noon–8 pm - FREE all-day for everyone. YBCA invites people to learn more about contemporary art with an open house festival of exciting events & exhibitions that highlight the last Big Idea of the season—Identity Shifts.
