Group Gallery Tours

YBCA believes that deep engagement with contemporary art and ideas should be an integral part of any student’s education. We welcome student groups of all ages to tour our galleries and engage with YBCA’s dynamic, multi-disciplinary programming. See below for details on two types of group-friendly gallery experiences.

Facilitated and Self-guided Tours

YBCA offers free facilitated tours and self-guided gallery tours during gallery hours for all groups of 10 or more. We welcome K-12 and college student groups, as well as other affinity groups and clubs interested in YBCA. YBCA requests at least two weeks notice for scheduling both facilitated and self-guided gallery tours. Scheduling facilitated tours is dependent on staff availability, so please contact us as early as possible.

Art Savvy

YBCA is please to offer our hands-on Art Savvy workshop to pre-arranged groups, depending on staff availability and adequate notice. Based on the educational principles of Visual Thinking Strategies, Art Savvy privileges deep observation and facilitated group dialogue over more traditional museum tour models. The workshop works best with groups of 10-20 students, although arrangements can be made for larger groups. Art Savvy is a great choice for educators looking to hone students’ observational, social, and critical thinking skills.
