Founded in 1961, the San Francisco Cinematheque is one of the oldest showcases for personal and experimental film in the United States. The Cinematheque's diverse programming includes historical as well as recent cutting-edge work; independent features and documentaries as well as personal and formally innovative films and videos.

The San Francisco Jewish Film Festival is the world's first, largest and most prestigious event of its kind, with an annual audience of 34,000. They showcase contemporary Jewish-subject films from around the world, build bridges between communities and heighten awareness of the diversity of secular Jewish culture.
