YBCA consists of two landmark buildings — the Galleries and Forum Building designed by Fumihiko Maki and the Theater by American architect James Stewart Polshek. The Galleries and Forum Building houses several event spaces including the Forum, Screening Room and Grand Lobby. The Theater contains the Theater and Theater Terrace Lobby. Both stylish contemporary buildings are located along the west side of Third Street between Mission and Howard in downtown San Francisco and are adjacent to the Moscone Convention Center and the beautiful urban oasis of Yerba Buena Gardens.
The YBCA Forum is a contemporary, spacious and elegant flexible space that offers diverse possibilities for any performance, lecture, business or community meeting, social gathering or other special event.
The spectacular, two-story-tall Grand Lobby, which serves as the entrance to the Galleries and Forum Building and opens into the heart of Yerba Buena Gardens, offers reception and special event space for up to 350 guests.
YBCA's intimate 92-seat Screening Room, located on the second level of the Galleries and Forum Building, offers state-of-the-art equipment for screenings, lectures and a variety of presentations.
The 757-seat YBCA Theater is striking with its two-tier seating, with its dual-level lobbies, spacious stage, excellent sight lines, dual level lobbies and vast technical inventory. The Theater is available for a variety of events, from theatrical presentations, concerts, lectures, meetings and receptions to industry events, including product introductions.
The Theater Terrace Lobby is located on the second floor of the Theater building with large windows opening to a spectacular view of Yerba Buena Gardens. It is the perfect intimate reception space for a pre or post theater performance reception or as a stand alone event.
