Tracing Roads through Central Asia: On Traders' Dilemmas and Travelers' Perspectives explores the complex relationship between nation building and the political nature of historical memory in the work of artists from the region's newly developing countries.

Jia Zhang-ke is perhaps China's most important contemporary filmmaker, and the leading figure of what is known as the "Sixth Generation." We present his two newest films, both local premieres.
