YBCA Announces 08_09 Season
Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA) announced its 2008_2009 performance, exhibition, film/video and community engagement season today programming on May 23. The programming engages audiences, art and artists in creative experimentation; offers art by leading contemporary artists from around the globe; looks beyond traditional definitions of visual, film and performance art with multidisciplinary works; and reflects YBCA’s commitment to commissioning new work by Bay Area artists as part of its triennial event, Bay Area Now.
The 08_09 YBCA season is organized around three themes, or Big Ideas, that place the art presented by YBCA in a broader context. These Big Ideas are
Bay Area Now 5—Inside/Outside,
Imagining Our Future and
Ritual and Redemption.

YBCA Launches Seat Naming Campaign

Take a Seat and Tell Your Story
YBCA needs one more name to add to the honor roll of supporters who have helped make us the center for groundbreaking performance in the Bay Area—YOURS. For a gift of $300 or $500, you can name a seat in the Novellus Theater and support the YBCA Fund for New Performance. Do you have a story about how the arts have affected your life? We invite you to share your experience and pay tribute to the power of performance as we continue our efforts to present art that matters.
Take a seat today, and your donation goes even farther! A corporate sponsor will match all gifts to the seat campaign one to one during the next few months. Become a visionary—take a seat today.
